Eject! Eject! Eject!
Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day is a image from the long-lived hard-working SOHO orbiter. It shows a Coronal Mass Ejection bubbling off the Sun and into space. Such events can cause auroral activity in the Earth's upper atmosphere, or, if not prepared for, massive damage to our space and ground infrastructure.
